What Our Warranty Covers
Our workmanship warranty covers defects or failures caused by improper installation techniques or craftsmanship, including:
• Premature cracking or separation related to installation
• Settling caused by improper base preparation
• Failures in mortar or masonry joints related to workmanship
• Improper leveling or finishing
• Failures in steps, walkways, foundations, chimneys, or veneer installations caused by workmanship issues If a covered issue arises within the warranty period, Davenport & Sons Masonry will inspect the project and perform necessary workmanship corrections at no cost
.What Our Warranty Does Not Cover
To ensure clarity for both parties, the following items are not covered:
• Damage caused by salt, de-icing chemicals, or corrosive agents
• Damage from snow plows, vehicles, or heavy equipment
• Damage resulting from homeowner misuse, neglect, or lack of maintenance
• Damage caused by natural disasters, extreme weather, flooding, or ground movement
• Material failures when the homeowner supplies materials
• Water intrusion issues when drainage or waterproofing improvements were recommended but declined
• Efflorescence or natural cosmetic characteristics of masonry or concrete These exclusions are standard in the masonry industry and protect both contractor and client from conditions outside workmanship control.
Maintenance Responsibilities
To keep your project protected under warranty, homeowners are responsible for basic maintenance such as:
• Avoiding salt and de-icers during winter
• Protecting edges from plow blades and vehicle tires
• Reporting issues promptly
• Sealing surfaces when recommended
