 Proper Excavation, Base & Preparation Most masonry failures start below the surface. Proper base preparation is one of the most important steps in our process and is never skipped. Our preparation includes:
• Excavation to proper depth when required
• Correct base materials and compaction
• Addressing drainage concerns that cause movement or failure This step is critical for masonry stairs, foundations, walkways, and structural repairs.
Reinforcement & Quality Masonry Materials We use proven masonry construction methods designed for New Jersey freeze-thaw conditions. Depending on the project, this may include:

Final Walkthrough & Written Warranty
Once your masonry project is complete, we perform a final walkthrough to ensure everything meets our standards — and yours. Workmanship Warranty Davenport & Sons Masonry LLC provides written workmanship warranties on all masonry work, subject to the terms below. Five-Year Written Workmanship Warranty (New Masonry Construction) All new masonry construction projects are backed by a five (5) year written workmanship warranty.
This includes complete masonry stair rebuilds, new foundations, block or concrete walls, and new stone or brick installations. This warranty covers defects resulting directly from improper workmanship when the work has been installed using accepted masonry practices. One-Year Workmanship Warranty (Masonry Repairs) All masonry repair work is covered by a one (1) year workmanship warranty. This includes tuckpointing, patch repairs, partial rebuilds, and other repair work where new materials are tied into existing structures. Because repairs involve existing conditions outside the contractor’s control, a one-year warranty is considered industry standard. Warranty Coverage & Limitations This warranty applies to workmanship only and does not cover materials supplied by third parties unless otherwise stated in writing. The warranty does not cover damage caused by ground movement, settling, frost heave, water intrusion due to drainage or grading conditions beyond the scope of work, structural movement unrelated to masonry workmanship, or salt or chemical damage, including de-icing salts or ice-melt products. All warranties are non-transferable and apply only to the original customer and project location.
